Welcome,
The Montgomery Chapter of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) represents the central area of the state of Alabama and is comprised of 160 members. Our chapter was chartered on the 11th day of January 1965 and was the successor to the Alabama Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, which was chartered on the 16th day of August, 1955.
The Mission Statement of The American Institue of Architects is “To enhance the profession of Architecture through Fellowship, Advocacy, Education, and Communication." The Montgomery Chapter does this through various community activities. Activities such as the Draw Montgomery Art Competition for junior high and high school students of the River Region, community design charettes, tours of Montgomery’s historic communities and educational symposiums.
Today, through public outreach, education, government advocacy, community redevelopment and activities, the AIA works toward a public environment that is responsive to the people it serves while representing the professional interests of America’s architects.
